The Society of Thirteen was formed in 1963 when a group of thirteen people met to form a new Society that would organise lectures and events of interest for the benefit of the people of Chester.

Each year the Society presents a series of lectures on a wide range of subjects, given by local and national experts. From time to time, excursions are arranged to places or events of interest. Members will be kept informed; up-to-date information is also posted on the Society’s website. Members joining the Society after the AGM of June 2008  pay an annual subscription of £10.00 and there is an entrance fee on the door of £3.00. Please show membership cards. Non-members are welcome to attend lectures, for which there is a charge on the door of £6.00. Refreshments are included in the price. Entrance fees may be altered for special events. The Society is most grateful to all its sponsors for their support.
